First Deaf Red Hatters Cruise

Some of us used the opportunity to bring their Red Hatter outfits and gather at different occasions while others
enjoyed a variety of onboard activities. There never was a dull moment. |

| Our first port of call was Portland, Main. After a city tour of Portland by bus, we continued along the beautiful coastline of Maine. We arrived in the picturesque town of Cape Elizabeth were we visited the oldest lighthouse in Maine. We stopped in Kennebunkport for lunch. There, the picturesque streets are lined with galleries, boutiques, and antique stores. |

After a drive through Acadia National Park and Cadillac Mountain, we stopped at the Lobster Oceanarium to learn more about the world of lobsters. The visit of the Turrets mansion took as back in time to the Gilded Age. Today it is a national registered historical place. Then, we lingered on in Bar Harbor's historic district. |
| En route to St. Martins, we passed through Saint John and stopped at the Reversing Falls Rapids. While touring the countryside, our local guide entertained us with fascinating folklore and tales of the area. We were informed about St. Martins unique history, including the thriving shipbuilding era of the past. At lunch, we enjoyed a traditional cup of Maritime Seafood Chowder at a local restaurant on the beach. |

 Public Gardens in Halifax |
Our tour started with a visit of the Public Gardens in Halifax. The garden's design reflects the Victorian era. A photo stop at Citadel Hill allowed us to take pictures with the guard and the citadel itself. Back in the downtown area, we visited the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic to learn more about the Titanic tragedy. The second half of the tour consisted of a nice drive through Nova Scotia with a visit of Peggy's Cove, the world's most photographed fishing village. |
| Boston was our last port of call. There we had a bus ride through historic Boston where we saw Copley Square, Trinity Church, Boston Public Library, Back Bay, Newbury Street, Public Garden, the Boston Common, Beacon Hill, and the Massachusetts State House. We continued across the Charles River to get to Cambridge. After stepping off the bus, we walked through Americas oldest and most prestigious university buildings. |
