Donations for Deaf Schools in Jamaica 2013
|
We are happy to announce that we were able to donate another $1,000.00 to the
Jamaica Association for the Deaf (JAD) in December 2013, four refurbished laptops and some
school supply items. The focus of our donation project is now the support of five students who need
transportation to school and lunch to make sure that they are able to attend school every day. The
five students who were selected will receive our agency's support with the help of our clients. Each
school year (10 school months), each of the five students needs US$445.00 for lunch and transportation.
We hope to raise enough money each school year to ensure that the five students are able to attend school.
Please continue to support our efforts to raise money for the students in Jamaica. Contributions can
be made via check or cash monthly, quarterly or one time a year.
Last year, Kerstin's Deaf Travel was given a Partnership for Development Award by the Jamaica Association
for the Deaf. However, this award has to be shared with all of our clients who suported JAD with their
donations during the last years.

We are grateful for all the help that we received from our clients during the course of the year
in order to raise money for deaf students in Jamaica and get donations like laptops, school supplies and items
for daily use that are needed at some of the boarding schools. With the help of our clients, our agency raised
$1,641.00. During a visit at the Jamaica Association for the Deaf (JAD) in March 2013, all the items and the
money were handed over to JAD. Thank you to all of you who supported our fundraising efforts. Please continue
to support our efforts to raise money for the deaf schools in Jamaica. If you have a laptop that is still
working and you would like to donate it, please let us know. If you would like to help with a financial
contribution, you can contact us at kerstin@kerstinstravel.com or at 561-452-5480.

Donation for Deaf Seniors of America Conference Orlando 2007
The Deaf Seniors of America (DSA) is an organization created for seniors by seniors. The 9th Biennial
DSA Conference took place in Orlando, Florida April 9-15, 2007. The local host, the Palm Beach County
Association of the Deaf (PBCAD) did a tremendous job to make this conference happen. It is amazing what
volunteers can do if they are passionate about something. The goal was to have a wonderful one week meeting
for deaf seniors and turn it into an unforgettable event. |

Indeed, the PBCAD achieved this goal by offering very informative work shops, lively entertainment,
interesting tours in Orlando and many social meetings. Our agency in cooperation with Royal Caribbean International
had the pleasure of donating a 7-night Eastern Caribbean cruise for two on the brand new Liberty of the Seas. The
Liberty will have her maiden voyage in May 2007. The cruise was auctioned off during the live auction during the
night show the last day of the conference. The lucky bidder was a couple from Miami who soon will have the joy to go
on this marvelous cruise. Congratulations! |
