A full-day excursion via coach took us to Sintra with a visit of Pena Palace.
The palace on top of a hill in the Sintra Mountains was built in the of 19th-century Romanticism style.
On the way to our river cruise ship, we stopped in Tomar ...	famous for the Convent of Christ
The Convent was a Knights Templar stronghold ...	from the 12th century and is a museum today
The beautiful town of Tomar was created ...	inside the walls of the Convento de Cristo
An alley lane in the former Jewish quarter leading to ...	the medieval synagogue completed in the Gothic style
Finally, we reached Porto with its iconic Dom Luís I Bridge where cars, trains and pedestrians cross the Douro river.
Some guests of our group went on a city tour via coach ...	and others on a walking tour finishing with a cable car ride
During a visit of the Calem wine cellars ...	we learned a lot about Portugese wine production
