Christmas Market Land & River Cruise Tour

Santa in the streecar in Zurich	Zurich is located at the Limmat river
The city has many small streets packed with restaurants	There are many historic buildings along the river
Guided walking tour	Taking a rest
Panoramic view from the top of the hill	Back in the Old Town where we continued the walking tour
Laufen Castle at the Rhinefalls	The Rhinefall is Europe's largest waterfall
The small but very pituresque town Stein am Rhine	The town is known for its half-timbered medieval houses
The city wall and the city gates are preserved	The medieval part of the town is a pedestrian area
Many of the medieval buildings are painted with frescoes	After the it was time to enjoy a hot mulled wine
We departed Zurich for Lucerne	We emarked a boat in Vitznau and crossed Lake Lucerne
The entire ship was festive decorated	Each cabin door was beautified with a wreath

Visiting beautiful Riquewihr in France	We learn a lot during a guided walking tour
The main street is dotted with half-timbered houses	There is plenty oportunity for gift shopping
Riquewihr is a town on the Alsace Wine Route	The town is still surrounded by its medieval fortifications

Decorating the tree ...	... was a lot of fun
Strasbourg in France is well known for its ...	... Gothic Cathédrale Notre-Dame
We discovered the city during a walking tour	Strasbourg is a UNESCO World Heritage Site
Gengenbach is located on the German side of the Rhine river	Here we enjoyed the Christmas Market in the evening
A river cruise is a great way to celebrate a birthday ...	... and enjoying a delicious birthday cake
Heidelberg Castle is a Renaissance structure in ruin located 260 feet at the Königstuhl hillside.
Visitors can enjoy a beautiful view from the castle over Heidelberg’s old downtown.
After a walking tour in the Old Town, ...	... we had time left to enjoy the Christmas Market
At night, we docked in Ruedesheim	Guests could join a wine tasting or a coffee tasting
The group that opted for the wine tasting had a great time at the Bassenheimer Hof cellar
There were different tours offered in Ruedesheim	Some of our guests joined the Vineyard Hike
We visited the medieval Lahneck Castle in the evening	Many legends are related to the caste, some are quite spooky
We are celebrating another birthday	Traveling with our groups is fun
It's time to take a picture with Santa ...	... and get a gift
Getting off the ship, we saw Cologne Cathedral ...	and discovered the Old Town during a walking tour
Stopping at the 'Tuennes & Schael' statue is always popular with tourists
Another night at the Chef's Table ...	a restaurant for fine dining
Enjoying dinner at the Chef's Table	Get together in the Lounge
Our final port was Amsterdam	Some guests discovered Amsterdam on a walking tour
Amsterdam is a faszinating city ...	that can be visited any time of the year
House boats belong to the canals of Amsterdam ...	... and are a quite expensive place to live
Some of our guests enjoyed exploring the city via a private canal boat tour
A cheese store with the Cheese Museum	Tulips in Amsterdam in the winter time
Canals are the hallmark of the city	A local artist installs bikes with flowers in the city
The walking tour takes the group to the Dam Square	Amsterdam has many interesting districts for visitors
And finally we get to the palce where we are welcomed ...	... with a traditional drink and some local food
Our land & river cruise comes to an end ...	... it was an amazing trip during the holiday season. Cheers!
